In a recent interview, Yungblud opened up about his early years and the path that drew him into music.

He described his childhood as “complicated,” growing up in a family business that often made him feel like part of a gang. His grandfather founded a guitar shop where his father also worked, immersing him in instruments and music from the very beginning.

Yungblud recalled that there’s even a photo of him as a newborn, just six hours old, sitting on the shop counter with a Beatles ukulele on his lap.

Laughing at the memory, he admitted he’s always been obsessed with music—because it surrounded him constantly, he never really had any other choice.
