Yungblud has recalled the time he met Liam Gallagher, and shared that the Oasis legend thought that he was a woman.
The Doncaster-born punk singer recalled his interaction with the Britpop icon during a new interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music 1, and revealed that Liam Gallagher was pretty fond of his music โ even though he didnโt realise he was a man.
Recalling how he bumped into him at a live show, Yungblud said: โMe and Scottish Adam [Warrington, guitarist] met him backstage once, and he said something about me apparentlyโฆ
โObviously I was wearing skirts on stage at the time. And he goes to Adamโ โWhat the fuck? What are you doing back here?โ and [Adamโs] like, โOh, Iโm just drinking.โ Heโs like, โYou in a band?โ and Adamโs like, โYeah, I play with Yungbludโ.
โLiamโs like, โAh, fucking hell. Donโt fucking like Yungblud,โ and walks off! But then he comes back to him, heโs like, โI do. Sheโs amazing.โ
Yungblud went on to laugh about the misunderstanding, and said it must have been โbecause I was wearing skirts at the timeโ. He added: โI was like, โIโm down with that.โ And honestly, they all came back running to the bus like, โYouโll never fucking guess whatโs happened!โโ

The discussion comes as the singer โ real name Dominic Harrison โ is gearing up to release part one of his double fourth album, โIdolsโ, this Friday (June 20)
In an interview with NME last year, he revealed that the Britpop heavyweights had played a role in inspiring the sound of the new record โ as had The Verve, Primal Scream, Suede, Stone Roses, David Bowie and Madonna.
โItโs that thing in your stomach when you listen to [them],โ he shared. โIt makes me feel like I can get up today. It makes me feel like Iโm invincible and that I can do anything โ thatโs what this new album sounds like.โ
Speaking to NME again this month, Yungblud also shared that his intention going into the โIdolsโ writing sessions was to make a record that stood the test of time โ drawing inspiration from the likes of Stevie Nicks, Elton John and Pink Floyd.
โThe world doesnโt need another surface-level album,โ he said. โEven if this isnโt commercially successful, thatโs the risk I wanted to take with it. If I donโt release a piece of art with this depth, Iโll be overlooked forever.โ
โThis album was all about self-reclamation โ who the fuck is Dom?โ he added. โIโm trying to go home [more often], to see my mother, my sisters and fucking feel that energy of the northโฆ it inevitably shows you who you are.โ
The record has been described as his โmost ambitiousโ yet and will follow on from his 2022 self-titled third album. So far, the first part of โIdolsโ has been previewed with the singles โHello Heaven, Helloโ and โLovesick Lullabyโ.
To celebrate the release, Harrison will be embarking on a UK and Ireland arena tour in 2026 โ and you can buy any remaining tickets here.
Those huge shows will come after a brief run of โUp Close And Personalโ UK dates this summer, as well as headline tours across North America and Europe, and a huge second edition of his own festival, BludFest, which takes place in Milton Keynes on June 21.
