West Ham 2 Man Utd 0: Hammers ease past Man United as Erik ten Hag’s struggling side lose their THIRD game of the season

Evan Kudus scored another goal for West Ham, this time with a low shot that went over Onana and into the net. Evans didn’t even get close to Kudus.

As time ran out, Edson Alvarez made a great block to stop United substitute Facundo Pellistri from scoring and breaking their scoreless streak. Two goals in six minutes in the second half from Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus made things even worse for Manchester United, who didn’t have any teeth.

Erik Ten Hag’s team had the better chances until Bowen and Kudus scored three goals in quick succession, moving the Hammers ahead of the guests and into sixth place.

For the first time since November 1992, when Alex Ferguson finally won the team’s first title, United has failed to score in four straight games.

And once more, they looked like they had a long way to go before they could be a candidate.

Bowen had scored 10 Premier League goals before the game, which was more than all eleven of United’s starters put together.

At the end, he had 11 more points than Rasmus Hojlund, the big-money signing who Ten Hag hooked up with before the hour.

Lucas Paqueta set up Bowen’s goal with a smart move, and then he fed Kudus, who got past Jonny Evans too easily and hit the ball into the far corner.

But until the quick-fire goal, it looked like David Moyes’ choice to rest half of his team for the loss at Liverpool in the Carabao Cup quarterfinal was going to backfire.

West Ham’s starting eleven didn’t do much to trouble a shaky United defense, especially in the first half, which was about as tasty as the raw chicken United is said to have served at a business event.

Because of this, the club got a low score of one out of five for cleanliness, and the football that both teams played was of the same quality.

West Ham went back In the fifth minute, Emerson forced Andre Onana to make a save. After that, there wasn’t much action in either penalty area for what seemed like days.

Before the 35th minute, Alphonse Areola, the home custodian, had to make more stops than Onana, but all of them were simple. That is until Antony picked up Mohammed Kudus’s loose pass and played Alejandro Garnacho through.

But the young Argentine didn’t finish well, and Areola blocked it with his right leg. Not long after that, Lucas Paqueta headed Garnacho’s cross over the bar. From the corner that was made, Areola stopped Kobbie Mainoo’s bobbling effort with ease.

United was feeling better, and Antony sent in a beautiful low cross that was hard to miss. Garnacho was the only one who caught it, but the angle was against him. James Ward-Prowse gave West Ham a free kick, and all Tomas Soucek could do was head it wide.

The home team came out stronger in the second half, and Onana made a great save when Bowen headed a Ward-Prowse corner goalwards.

Ten Hag had enough, and in the 57th minute, he substituted Marcus Rashford for Hojlund.

Evans and Onana almost got into fights with each other right away, and the game finally seemed to be taking a break.

Kurt Zouma did a good job of stopping a Luke Shaw cross from getting to Garnacho. After a long give-and-go, it finally happened.

Bowen ran onto Paqueta’s smart return ball that had been clipped and hit the ball over the line, past Onana.

United made a mistake that led to the second goal. Evans passed the ball to Evans, but Mainoo couldn’t catch it, so Kudus gave the ball to Paqueta. The Ghanaian still had a lot to do after the Brazilian picked out the winger’s run.
