‘Hamptons 5’ Mansion Where Kevin Durant Met NBA Suitors Is Listed for $15M

for NBA fans, this East Hampton, NY, home on the market for $15 million is nothing short of hallowed ground.

It’s the vacation getaway famously rented by NBA great Kevin Durant in 2016 for 10 days and $100,000. While summering in the Hamptons, the All-Star free agent listened to pitches from teams who wished to sign him. He ultimately signed with the Golden State Warriors, in “a seismic decision for the league,” according to the New York Times.

In fact, the group of Warriors—Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Andre Igoudala—who traveled to this summer retreat to persuade Durant to bring his talents to the San Francisco Bay Area have become known as the “Hamptons 5.”

For a Warriors fan, buying this home could be acquiring the ultimate piece of sports memorabilia. As the San Francisco Chronicle wrote last year, “Is it too early to declare the house Kevin Durant rented in the Hamptons last summer a National Historical Site?”

It is not too early to declare the private retreat available to buy. The 7,400-square-foot home is on a 3.2-acre lot just one block from the beach.

Built in 2004, the custom home has five bedrooms, five baths, and three half-baths. We’re guessing it also has fairly high ceilings and door frames. (Durant is a close to 7 feet tall, after all.)

High-end details include curved walnut doors at the entry, polished stone floors, screened porch, and a huge kitchen. There’s also a large living room that likely served as the meeting area for Durant and his suitors.

The master suite (where Durant slept) features a sitting area, luxe bath, and private balcony. There’s also a teak rooftop observation deck, and a lower level with a screening room and catering kitchen.

The landscaped grounds include gardens, a heated pool with waterfall, a poolside cabana with gym, summer kitchen, hot tub area, tennis court, and three-car garage.

The location is also notable for celeb residents, including Jerry Seinfeld, and is near the childhood summer home of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.

Durant got his pro start with the Seattle SuperSonics (now Oklahoma City Thunder) in 2007. After signing with the Warriors in 2016, he helped lead the team to a title in his first year with the squad. Considered one of the greatest scorers in NBA history, he has won the Most Valuable Player Award and four NBA scoring titles, among other accolades.
