However, the basketball world was shocked as Dell and Sonya decided to file for divorce after three decades of marriage. Steph Curry, arguably the most popular among the Curry siblings, shares the struggles he had to endure amid his parents’ divorce.

‘Y’all effed this up’

Divorce is never easy for any family, especially for children, no matter how old they are. The Golden State Warriors star admits the news hit him hard but couldn’t blame his parents for doing it.

Meanwhile, Seth is married to Doc Rivers’ daughter, and Sydel Curry, the only daughter of Dell and Sonya, is married to Steph’s GSW teammate Damion Lee.

Now that he has his own family, Steph Curry will surely learn the lessons here and apply them in real life. People expect physical and verbal abuse as common denominators when a couple decides to file for divorce, but in many cases, the couples simply grow apart. In Dell and Sonya’s case, allegations of infidelity have come up as one of the reasons for the divorce.

Allegations of infidelity

The two sides accused each other of cheating. Dell claims Sonya committed “acts of illicit sexual misconduct while Sonya points out Dell’s marital misconduct as a reason for filing for divorce. Dell refuses to give Sonya alimony because his ex-wife lives with her new partner in Tennessee. Meanwhile, Sonya cleared that she began dating after being legally separated from her ex-husband, per The List. Things could get messy, and the divorce could open a can of worms. But in any divorce, it’s always the kids who are suffering the most.

It’s heartbreaking to see Dell Curry and Sonya seated on opposite sides of the arena watching Stephen Curry make history. Every child wonders why it has come to this, and it takes a lot of patience, love, and maturity to see things from a different perspective.
