Boxing star Sugar Ray Leonard knocked $4 million off the price of his ivy-covered, Tuscan-style Los Angeles mansion last week, bringing the sticker price down to a hair below $40 million.

The six-time world champion and Olympic gold medalist and his wife, Bernadette Robi, first listed the eight-bedroom villa in the city’s Pacific Palisades neighborhood in 2019 for $51.995 million, and the price has been trimmed several times since, listing records show.

“Now the house is becoming an incredible value,” said listing agent Branden Williams of the Beverly Hills Estates. Williams is listing the home with wife and colleague, Rayni, as well as Josh and Matt Altman of the Altman Brothers at Douglas Elliman.

“To find a home on a piece of land like this, in an A-plus location, very rarely comes up, not to mention the celebrity history on this property,” he said.

The couple bought the sprawling property, which has 1950s origins, in 1993. They rebuilt it in the late 1990s with architect Richard Landry—known as the “king of the megamansion”—to emulate Old World Italian architecture, complete with imported stone and custom timber features. Now, with their children grown up and no longer at home, they are looking to downsize, Mansion Global previously reported.

Across its almost 17,000 square feet, the Italianate manse boasts beamed ceilings, stone columns and stately fireplaces, and features include a chef’s kitchen with professional-grade appliances, two islands and a large pantry; a solarium, a two-story galleried family room and a cloistered living room.

There’s also a screening room, a playroom, a game room and a wine cellar, according to the listing.

The home sits on almost 2 acres in the upper Riviera enclave of Pacific Palisades, and the grounds have a pool, a two-story guest house, a lit tennis court with a viewing area and a putting green.

A representative for the boxer, often regarded as one of the greatest of all time, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
