At the heart of this surprising connection is Ernest “Randy” Mims. A longtime friend and LeBron’s business manager, Mims has played a significant role in his career. Notably these purchases are unrelated to providing performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) to anyone else. Federal authorities confirmed that Mims wasn’t a target of any investigation. They found no indication that Mims had provided PEDs to athletes or engaged in any wrongdoing.

LeBron James and associates named in Biogenesis documents

Another figure associated with LeBron James, David Alexander, a prominent trainer of elite athletes, also surfaced in the Biogenesis investigation. Alexander’s connection to the scandal stemmed from his interactions with Carlos Acevedo. Carlos was a target of the investigation and a former business partner of Tony Bosch, the mastermind behind Biogenesis.

While Acevedo initially claimed that Alexander paid him for drugs, it was later revealed that they had worked out a different arrangement. Acevedo provided Alexander with free substances in exchange for bringing in new clients. Notably, these referrals did not include any athletes. There is also no evidence to suggest that Alexander provided PEDs to athletes through these referrals.
