Scott McTominay Shares Paul Pogba’s Gym Wisdom in Remarkable Body Transformation Journey at Manchester United

In an interview, Scott McTominay talked about how hard Premier League football players have to work out in the gym.

The huge 6ft 3in player has had a good start to the season with Man United. He has scored five goals in the Premier League, including two goals that helped United beat Chelsea 2-1 at the beginning of December.

In 2022, McTominay shared a picture of his well-toned body on Instagram while working out late at night before the 2022–23 season began.

Now, the 27-year-old has talked about how he changed his body so dramatically. He said that his former Man United teammate Paul Pogba had told him about gaining muscle.

The Scotland international told FourFourTwo, “I think people would be shocked if they knew how hard players work in the gym and how high of an intensity you have to be to push yourself to reach those goals.”

“Over the last seven years, my body has changed.” I was 70 kg and 6 feet 3 inches tall when I was 17 or 18. Now I’m 85 kg.

“I had to put in a lot of effort to get stronger.”Paul Pogba told me, “When you get to 23, you’ll put on the muscle.” I thought, “Where is it then?!” when it didn’t happen.

Erik ten Hag may have moved him up in the team’s hierarchy because he works out a lot. The midfielder has started 12 of United’s 16 Premier League games so far this season.

For some background, McTominay played 24 times for United last season, but the Dutch manager only put him in the starting lineup 10 times. He was supposedly in talks to move to West Ham in the summer to get more playing time.

He was also United’s captain when they played Liverpool and didn’t score at Anfield because Bruno Fernandes was banned.

McTominay, who has been praised for his play this season, said, “I’m lucky because I’ve always loved going to the gym.” I like small wins, and I’m good at competing in that area.

“The same goes for what I eat and how much sleep I get. I’m very disciplined, and I’m proud of that.”
