Roy Keane’s Car Collection: From the £80,000 Range Rover to the Custom Aston Martin He Bought When He Won the Treble with Man Utd

Roy Keane and a GOOD engine go together like peanut butter and jelly

The legendary Man United player was known for his high-energy games and going from box to box.

When it comes to a motor, the Sky Sports commentator wants something just as dependable.

He has had a lot of cars, from his first, a reliable Ford Escort Hatchback worth about £2,000, to the expensive Aston Martin he bought when Manchester United won the Treble.

SunSport looks at the cars Roy has been seen driving.

Keane bought himself a flashy custom-painted gold Aston Martin in 1999, not long after United won the Treble.

The DB7, which he chose, was never in a James Bond movie because it wasn’t thought to be cool enough.

But when we look at it, we have to argue. It has an automatic transmission, a 3.2-liter engine, and black leather seats.

The car was for sale on Auto Trader in 2020 for a low £24,000, with only 60,000 miles on it.

Around 2005, Keane was said to have driven a classy Bentley Continental.

One from that year can be bought today for around £18,000 to £24,000.

But Keano would have paid a lot more than that, around £80,000.

It was sold to a showroom in Edinburgh and then allegedly stolen by joyriders. It was later found.

An honest Ford Escort Hatchback was Roy’s first car, which he bought in the 1990s.

Between 1980 and 1990, it was often the best-selling car. An amazing 4.1 million of them were sold during that time.

The Escort was replaced by the Focus in 1998, and production of the Escort slowly stopped.

Since it was the smart thing to do, you can be sure that his first-team boss, Brian Clough, would have agreed.

In his last few years at Old Trafford, Roy was seen coming into Carrington in a fancy Mercedes.

The C-Class oozed luxury and comfort, and when it came out, it was priced reasonably at around £30,000.

That clearly made it a way for many car fans to get their first taste of a Merc.

They weren’t very fast, though. Based on the model, they couldn’t go faster than 5 to 11.5 seconds in a 0 to 60 mph run.

We don’t know if Roy owned it or not.

But in August, the generous TV host gave a £27,000 Toyota Yaris to a hospital in Co. Cork.

Then he told the staff that he would pay for it to be raffled off and bid on.

“Roy Keane’s amazing kindness means the world to us,” said Enid Conway, who is in charge of marketing and collecting money for Marymount Hospice.

“A huge group of people in the community get special care from Marymount.” It’s encouraging to see that people who want to help what we do understand this.

“Marymount is one of a kind and an important part of caring for families in Cork and beyond.”

“We are deeply grateful for Roy’s kind act and the good it will do for the people we care for and their families.” “That really is a wonderful act of kindness.”

You haven’t played football or been in football if you haven’t bought a Range Rover.

Roy had a pricey £80,000 Sport model, but he wasn’t happy with it in 2016.

He was unlucky enough to have his SUV stuck in the car wash at a Shell garage in Altrincham as he was taking it through the process.

Luckily, no damage was done, but Roy was said to be furious.
