Fade, who moved from Sydney to Dubai in 2008 to further his radio career, told the publication Smith came up with the whole thing.
‘His idea was pretty epic,’ Fade said.
‘He said, “Let’s pretend that I’m going to take a selfie with [Ramirez] and as I get the camera on selfie mode, you come from behind and she’ll see you on your knee about to propose.”‘

Fade shared and pinned the proposal video to his Instagram, showing Smith pretending to fumble with Ramirez’s camera as they tried to take a selfie.
As he held the camera high, Smith pretended to reposition for better lighting only for Ramirez to see Fade get down on one knee behind them on her phone screen.
Shocked to tears, she spun around to graciously accept the engagement ring with a resounding yes, much to Fade’s joy.

After several photos, Smith congratulated the happy couple before imparting a nugget of wisdom.
‘He said, “I want you to treasure this moment right now, because later on in your life, in your relationship, things may not be how they are right now, so just treasure this moment.”‘
Fade and Ramirez went on to get married in December in Dubai, livestreaming the ceremony for their fans to view.
