PSG have ‘shortlisted Marcus Rashford’ as a potential replacement for outgoing Kylian Mbappé… while the French giants are eyeing the Manchester United striker

Marcus Rashford is said to be on PSG’s watchlist of possible replacements for Kylian Mbappe, who is the club’s star player.

Mbappe has been linked with a move away from the Parc des Princes for a long time. Real Madrid is the most likely home for the France star.

The long-running saga over the 25-year-old’s future took a clear turn this week when Mbappe told the club that he will leave for free in the summer, ending the story.A story from The Times says that Luis Campos, the football adviser for the Parisian team, sees Rashford as a possible alternative for Mbappe.
Rashford was in talks to join the Ligue 1 club in the summer of 2022, but he decided to stay at United instead. He had his best season to date at Old Trafford, scoring 30 goals in 56 games across all categories. In Erik Ten Hag’s second season as manager of the club, however, it has been hard for him to keep up those high standards.

The 26-year-old has only scored five goals in 23 Premier League games this season. He has also been involved in some controversial events outside of football, which has made his poor play on the field even worse. In January, the school product missed training before an FA Cup match with Newport because he was seen in a bar in Belfast. The event is said to have caused trouble in the club’s locker room.

Rashford signed a new five-year deal at Old Trafford worth a base of £300,000 a week last summer.

For this reason, the forward is expected to get a high price, and Sir Jim Ratcliffe will have the final say on any possible sale.
Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is also on PSG’s list of players they want to sign.

The Nigerian forward Osimhen has been a big surprise at Napoli since he moved there from Lille in 2020. He is a more traditional all-around scorer than the English player.

Last season, Luciano Spalletti led the club to its first Serie A title in more than 30 years. Osimhen scored the most goals for the team.
The Nigerian player’s great play earned him a new contract extension in December, with a release option that is said to be worth more than £105 million.

Chelsea and Arsenal are also said to want to sign Osimhen this summer, but the striker recently said that he already knew what he wanted to do with his career.

He told CBS Sports last month, “There’s a rumor going around that I’m linked with the Premier League.” “This is what you expect when you are one of the best strikers in the world.”
“Of course, the EPL is one of the world’s biggest and best leagues.”

“At Napoli, I just signed a new deal. I enjoy my time there and working with the team. I already know what I want to do at the end of the season.”

“I know what I want to do for work.” I’ve been making my own choices since the beginning, and everything is going well for me. When I first started, things didn’t go as planned, but I had a plan.

“I already knew what I wanted to do next.”
