Pop Icon Cher Donates $5 Million to Build Homeless Support Centers in Atlanta
Atlanta, Georgia — Global music icon and humanitarian Cher has announced a major charitable initiative in her hometown of Atlanta, donating her entire $5 million in tour bonuses and sponsorship earnings to build a network of homeless support centers across the city. The project, which aims to address Atlanta’s growing homelessness crisis, will create 150 affordable housing units and 300 shelter beds for people in need.

Her donation will fund the construction of three major facilities — one in Midtown, one in West End, and another near Decatur. Each will include a mix of emergency shelters, transitional housing, and permanent supportive housing, designed to help individuals rebuild their lives over time rather than rely solely on short-term aid.
