Mark Wahlberg shared a new poster for the upcoming film adaptation of the wildly popular video game series Uncharted to his Twitter account on Wednesday.
In the image, the 50-year-old actor and his costar, Tom Holland, were seen posing in front of a wrecked ship.
The performer also wrote a short message in his post’s caption that read: ‘Boom. Exclusively in theaters February 18.’

Development on the Uncharted film previously began in the late 2000s, when news about the project began circulating on various media sites.
The game series itself is centered on the adventures of treasure hunter Nathan Drake and his various companions.
It was later confirmed by representatives of the game’s developer, Naughty Dog, that the company was actively looking for individuals to lead the feature.
In 2010, it was announced that filmmaker David O. Russell had signed on to direct the film.

The director also began working on the feature’s script, and Wahlberg later revealed that Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci were being eyed to appear in the project.
Russell later departed the film in order to work on Silver Linings Playbook, and several other filmmakers, including Neil Burger and Shawn Levy, were brought in as replacements.
Uncharted’s current director, Ruben Fleischer, was eventually confirmed to be helming the project last year.
Holland, who will play Drake, joined the feature’s cast in 2017, while Wahlberg, who is set to portray Victor Sullivan, better known as Sully, signed on two years later.

Other cast members include Sophia Ali, Tati Gabrielle and Antonio Banderas, who will serve as the feature’s antagonist.
The film will follow Drake as he embarks on his very first treasure-hunting expedition while searching for his brother.
Physical production on the feature initially began in 2020, although shooting was shut down on Holland’s first day of filming due to the onset of the global pandemic.
Filming later picked up that July, although Banderas later tested positive for COVID-19 and had to isolate himself from the rest of the crew for a period of time.

The Spider-Man franchise star eventually finished his scenes that October, and production concluded later that month.
Uncharted’s first trailer was released this past October after a teaser previously made its debut in May.
The long-awaited feature is currently set to premiere on February 11th, 2022, with a release in the United States set to occur on the 18th of that month.
