Trae Young scored 32 points in his first game back after being left out of the All-Star game, helping the Hawks defeat the Suns 129-120.
It was a back-and-forth battle in the first half. Durant had 16 points going into the tunnel, while Young had 17.
But turnovers were hurting the Suns once more. In the first half, Phoenix handed the ball over eight times without recording a steal.
The Hawks answered with a 7-0 run to close the third quarter, as the Suns began to get some rhythm and built a three-point lead.
Trae Young or Bogdan Bogdanovic’s three-pointers in the fourth quarter ended every Phoenix rally. The 2017 Suns draft pick Bogdanovic scored 23 points off the bench.
The Hawks made 17 three-pointers in total, with seven coming from Trae Young.
Despite the fact that every member of the Suns starting five finished in double figures, Bradley Beal had an especially difficult shooting night because of a nasal fracture. Beal finished with 14 points on 5–15 shooting at the end of the game, missing all six of his shots from outside the arc.
The Suns’ final game of their seven-game road trip will take place on Sunday at 1:30 PM against the Washington Wizards.
