Over two million people have watched this video of Keith and his band covering Lou Reed’s track ‘I’m Waiting for the Man’, as the guitarist brings his classic bluesy touch to this legendary 1960s song.

Viewers from all over the world have rushed to the video’s comment section to show their love for Keith’s cover, with many praising his hard-edged rock vocal and cool rock’n’roll instrumentation. Even nine months after the cover was uploaded, the views continue to rack up on the video as more comments come flooding in. “80 years old and still rocking harder than anyone who’s ever lived!” said one viewer, whilst another noted that the cover “brings some new life to an old song”.

The cover itself came as part of a Lou Reed tribute album entitled ‘The Power of the Heart: A Tribute to Lou Reed’, which also featured covers from artists including Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Rufus Wainwright, Lucinda Williams, and Rickie Lee Jones. The album was released on Record Store Day (April 20th) 2024, and makes a perfect tribute to an extraordinary musician and songwriter who was truly a pioneer of rock music.

This video features the audio of Keith’s version of ‘Cocaine Blues’, a classic of the blues genre that dates back to the 1940s. The recording of this version is pretty rare, and more than anything, it really showcases Keith’s talents for making a simple acoustic guitar line sound absolutely beautiful.
