Heartwarming Gesture: Rasmus Hojlund Gifts Shirt to Young Fan Following Manchester United’s Victory Over Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup

After beating Wigan Athletic on Monday, Manchester United moved on to the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes scored the goals that gave United a 2-0 win. They could have scored a lot more goals but were very wasteful with the ball.

Rasmus Hojlund came very close many times and was unfortunate not to add to his season’s total.

According to manutd.com, the striker showed some style by making a nice move toward a fan in the away end after the game.

Hojlund ran straight for a fan holding a sign with a Danish theme and asked the forward for his shirt.

The forward was happy to make the young fan’s day, and the boy’s father was overjoyed that his son now has a piece of United history.

“That made my son’s night for sure.” He is now sleeping soundly. It was said that the young fan’s father said, “I’m sure he will remember it for the rest of his life.”

Once more, Hojlund worked hard for the cause to help United get past a tough spot in the early rounds of the tournament.

After an early chance that was saved by the home goalie, the 20-year-old’s powerful header off of Alejandro Garnacho’s fine cross hit the bar from right in front of the goal.

Then, Hojlund wasn’t able to get his feet together fast enough when Marcus Rashford hit the ball, and Sam Tickle saved it. This was the third missed chance.

The striker keeps getting into the right spots, though, and it’s clear that his teammates are getting used to how he works.

United’s next and only league game in January is next Sunday when top-four foes Tottenham Hotspur come to Old Trafford. Holland is likely to play.
