Despite making the playoff, the Georgia Bulldogs have at least six players in the college football transfer portal as the list continues to grow. Georgia is now losing a defender to an SEC foe among other departures in the transfer portal.
According to Dawg Nation, some of the Georgia players in the transfer portal include cornerback Justyn Rhett, defensive lineman Jamaal Jarrett, linebacker Samuel M’Pemba, wideout Michael Jackson and linebacker Troy Bowles.
Cornerback Julian Humphrey has not only entered the portal but signed with a new team. According to On3.com’s Pete Nakos, Humphrey has signed with the Texas A&M Aggies. It will be worth watching to see if head coach Kirby Smart is able to retain any of these players who have entered the portal.
The loss is not expected to greatly impact Georgia’s chances in the College Football Playoff. Humphrey played in 11 games this season but only notched 10 tackles and 4 pass deflections in 2024.
The former four-star defender was the No. 2 rated cornerback in the college football transfer portal, per On3.
“Georgia cornerback Julian Humphrey has signed with Texas A&M, On3 has learned,” Nakos wrote on Sunday. “The No. 2 cornerback in the transfer portal, according to On3’s Transfer Portal Rankings, Humphrey spent the weekend in College Station.
“Other schools in the mix for the former top-100 recruit included SMU, Florida State, Texas and Oregon but the Aggies were able to close the commitment on the visit to College Station.”
