Singer Yungblud was forced to call off his show in Philadelphia during his highly anticipated global Idols tour, but supporters have applauded his “classy” and “rare” act of kindness. The 28-year-old performer, who hails from the UK, has been creating a buzz stateside with his high-energy, charismatic shows and his genuine, relatable bond with audiences.

The British artist is heeding the counsel of rock icon Ozzy Osbourne, who urged him to “conquer America” during a backstage chat at the Black Sabbath frontman’s final show, Back to the Beginning, on July 5, in Birmingham, England.

He was scheduled to take the stage at The Fillmore in Philadelphia on September 18 but was forced to postpone after falling ill with a virus and being advised by doctors to rest.

The artist turned to social media to inform his followers, sharing a video update on Facebook.

In a well-received gesture, he arranged for money to be placed behind a bar tab for his supporters to enjoy.

In the caption alongside his video, Yungblud wrote: “Philly, I’m gutted to have to do this but I need to reschedule the show tonight.

“I’ve been trying to get better for two days since New York but I literally can’t get off the floor and doctors have advised me that I have a virus that requires me to rest and take it seriously.

“We will be rescheduling and moving the show to The Met Philadelphia on a date in the very near future.”

He told ticket holders to check their emails for additional details.

The performer went on: “To apologize and to celebrate My Only Angel coming out tonight, I’ve put some money behind the bar. If you have a ticket and still wanna hang out, go to Johnny Brenda’s and say My Only Angel to the bar tenders to get a beer on me. I love you all.”

He then shared the location of Johnny Brenda’s bar in Philadelphia.

In the comments section, supporters urged him to get some rest and prioritize his health, but others were amazed by his thoughtful gesture of buying them drinks as an apology.

One person commented: “The fact that you’ve put money behind the bar (translation for the non-Brits: drinks on Yungbuld)… do you even recognize how RARE that is???

“How many celebrities have canceled plans and said ‘sorry, not here, we’ll fix it later on a stupid date’. Respect Dom and get healthy babe.”

Another wondered: “Wait is he buying us drinks?” To which, someone else responded: “He is! What a classy guy!”

And another admirer wrote: “You are a kind, generous soul. Sometimes your body has a way of making you slow down, even when your mind wants otherwise. Listen to your body. After all, it’s the only place you have to live.”
