Dwayne Johnson, With Hair, Looks Terrifyingly Similar to Jason Momoa as AI Reveals What โ€˜The Rockโ€™ Will Look Like in Moana Live-Action Remake

Dwayne Johnson has been a part of several acclaimed movies in some way or another. After performing varied roles on-screen and giving voice to animated characters behind the scenes as well, the actor is now gearing up for a live-action adaptation of Disneyโ€™s 2016 hit animated movie Moana. Fans are also curious to see The Rock in an entirely different look and it seems like AI is helping fans imagine the star in his character of Maui.

Johnson has previously lent his voice in Moana for the Polynesian demigod, Maui. This work of the Walt Disney Animation Studios again stood out not only in receiving critical acclaim but in being box office success as well. Now, itโ€™s time for the fans to see Maui in live-action.

Dwayne Johnson, in an entirely different look as presented by AI

Earlier this month, during Disneyโ€™s shareholdersโ€™ meeting, The Great One announced a new live-action remake of Moana. In his announcement tweet, he mentioned how giving a voice to Maui changed his life. It was evident that the filmโ€™s story has touched him immensely. From his tweet, one can easily understand how personal this film is for Johnson.

However, before the studios release any picture of The Rock as Maui, taking advantage of artificial intelligence, the surprising images are in front of us. The result might take fans back to wonder whether Jason Mamoa and The Brahma Bull are cousins or not.

Thereโ€™s no way in which the two actors resemble in reality. But one can get into a dilemma if one encounters these AI-generated images where Johnson has long hair, similar to the Aquaman star.

This captivating result of AI must have thrilled fans more than ever to witness this remake on the big screen soon. Although thereโ€™s no official release date, it is expected to hit theatres in late 2024 or early 2025.

Before watching it on the big screen, do you know what made The Peopleโ€™s Champion go for voicing Mauiโ€™s character? Was it the uniqueness of the character or any personal story that made him fall in love with the character?

The Rockโ€™s personal attachment to the animated film, Moana

In an exclusive interview with Female First, The Rock expressed his feelings about the character in Moana which he voiced over, the Aloha Spirit depicted in the movie

He said, โ€œThere are multiple iterations. He is a shapeshifter, charismatic. He is larger than life. When you hear the mythology of Maui as kids, we were blown away by it. He is a fantastic character to play.โ€

Apart from Johnsonโ€™s feelings toward the character, he is attached to the character and the culture of the film on a personal level.

The Pacific islands that inspired the story of Moana also shaped the traditions of the Samoan dynasty. Thus, there wasnโ€™t a doubt for fans to see Johnson coming back to this venture, although his AI-generated look might surprise many.
