Carrie Underwood Goes Back to Her Roots With a Stunning New Hair Color

Carrie Underwood is going back to her roots, literally, with a brand-new hair color inspired by her natural locks.

The country superstar debuted the eye-catching transformation late Monday evening with a carousel of photos on Instagram, showing off her fresh “bronde” look.

“Well, the last time I saw my natural hair color, I was probably about 12 years old, but I thought it might be time to give it a second chance,” Underwood captioned the post.

She also gave a shoutout to her stylist, Katelin at Parlour 3 in Brentwood, Tennessee, for “helping me get back to my roots!”

Parlour 3 is owned by Underwood’s longtime hair and makeup artist Melissa Schleicher, who has been with the singer since her very first Grand Ole Opry appearance following American Idol.

Fans seem to be loving the change. The post has already racked up nearly 300,000 likes and thousands of comments from friends and followers alike.

Underwood has kept a low profile since finishing her stint as a judge on the most recent season of American Idol,  a full-circle moment nearly two decades after she won Season 4 back in 2005.

Since the season ended, Underwood has given fans a glimpse into life on her farm, from showing off her giant tomatoes to posting photos of homemade muffins, fresh-baked bread, and her beloved farm animals.

She will soon make her return to the stage with a performance at Voices of America Country Music Fest on August 8. She’s also confirmed to return to the Grand Ole Opry on September 12 and 13.

Soon, Underwood will make her return to television with her 13th consecutive season performing the show-opening NBC’s Sunday Night Football.

Underwood filmed the new Sunday Night Football open at The Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas, the same venue where she made history with her record-breaking residency, REFLECTION. Spanning over three years with sold-out shows through April 2025, it stands as the longest-running Las Vegas residency by a solo female country artist.

“For the 20th season of SNF, we wanted to set the tone for the night by reimagining the anthem sound in a way that plays to Carrie’s powerhouse vocals, while visually creating a seamless blend of stylized shots and behind-the-scenes moments evoking the national roadshow that is Sunday Night Football, week after week in the fall,” Tripp Dixon, creative director of the SNF show open for each of the past 13 years, shared.

“We had a blast shooting the new opening at The Resorts World Theatre again,” Underwood said. “As always, Tripp and the creative team continue to raise the bar, bringing the high energy and stunning visuals that the Sunday Night Football audience has come to expect year after year. I can’t wait for the world to see it!”

Fans will have to wait until Sunday, Sept. 7 to see the debut of the Sunday Night Football show opening. The new show open will premiere ahead of the Ravens-Bills playoff rematch in the SNF season opener on NBC and Peacock.
