“BREAKING NEWS” Lando Norris just made a direct statement aimed at Max Verstappen in the interview after the Belgian Grand Prix.

During the Grand Prix of Belgium, an unexpected and tense confrontation took place between two of the greatest young talents in Formula 1: Lando Norris and Max Verstappen. What started as a heated battle on the circuit, briefly escalated into a verbal jousting that attracted the attention of fans and media worldwide.

According to sources close to the McLaren team, Lando Norris, frustrated by a catch -up action by Verstappen in the opening phase of the race, would have mentioned the Dutchman via the on -board radio as a “stupid Dutchman”. The words seemed intended to provoke Verstappen, just at a time when the tension between the drivers was at its highest.

Although the statement was not broadcast in the official racing broadcast, the fragment was later confirmed by a McLaren team member who wished to stay anonymously. “It was an emotional reaction from Lando, which was frustrated because he felt passed. It was not professional, but also not personal hatred,” said the Insider.

However, Max Verstappen’s reaction did not take long. During the press conference after the race, in which he appeared as usual as the winner, he was asked about Norris’s remark. Verstappen remained remarkably calm and smiled before he answered with only fifteen words that the room stopped:

“If being stupid means I win, then I want to stay stupid, every race again.”

The statement hit like a bomb in the Formula 1 world. Not only because of the simplicity, but especially because of the effectiveness. Verstappen’s remark became trending on social media within a few minutes. Many fans praised his maturity, his cold -bloodedness and his ability to silence his critics with a sharp one -liner.

Lando Norris would later have reported to Verstappen in the Paddock on Sunday to apologize for his words. Although the content of that conversation remained private, both teams confirmed that there is “no resentment between the two drivers”.
