BREAKING: Manager Pete DeBoer publicly suggested Jamie Benn’s 400th goal was a FLUKE…

Dallas Stars fans will have to wait a little longer to see left winger Jamie Benn score his 400th career goal.

Head coach Pete DeBoer said prior to the Stars’ game against the Nashville Predators on Thursday night that the veteran will miss the contest due to “maintenance”.

Jamie Benn has not missed a regular-season game since the 2020-21 season. He is out tonight due to “maintenance,” per DeBoer.

Goal No. 400 will not be against Nashville.

The news of Benn being sidelined is noteworthy in that the Stars’ captain hasn’t missed a regular season game since the 202-21 season and has played in 371 consecutive games.

Up until tonight, Benn had the fifth-longest active streak of consecutive games played.

The last time Benn had to miss time for the Stars was when he was in the NHL’s COVID-19 protocols back in December of 2021.

Benn has been stuck on 399 career goals scored since he scored against Edmonton on March 8. Franchise legend Mike Modano is the franchise leader in goals scored with an eye-watering 557.
