Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is perhaps the most celebrated figure of the Superbowl, and for a good reason.
The 27-year-old, who aggravated his high ankle sprain in the second quarter, returned from the locker room to showcase two historic quarters โ completing 13 of 14 passes in the second half for 93 yards and two touchdowns. He is now the winner of two Super Bowls in only a five-season career โ a victory that you would be forgiven for assuming qualifies ownership of one of the world’s best homes. His mid-century modern ranch in Kansas City is surprisingly more understated than you might expect, however.
According to Work and Money, Patrick Mahomes’ home (that he purchased in 2019 for $1.75 million to $1.9 million โ however, records don’t say the exact figure). Instead, the quarterback lives with his wife, Brittany, in what is described as a ‘very nice but understated contemporary ranch’ on a 1.4-acre lot by the Country Club District.

The 4,343 square foot home comes with three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms โ enough room for Patrick, Brittany, and their two children, Sterling Skye and Patrick Lavon Mahomes III.
Built in 1953, the home exhibits mid-century modern architectural features and decorating ideas through its built-in cabinetry and floor-to-ceiling windows that fill the main living spaces with sunlight. Its contemporary color ideas (seen through its sleek white and gray palette) contrast the retro fireplace that celebrates the home’s twentieth-century roots without making the space appear outdated.
Alongside the living space, the home has a wet bar and a large kitchen with white marble countertops contrasting the wooden cabinets.
Per property records acquired by Work and Money, Patrick and Brittany spent around $400,000 updating the 70-year-old house themselves โ shortly after they gave up renting to invest in their long-time home.
‘It’s cool just to have our own house where we can grow into, and so this is definitely a big step in our life, the sportsman told Bleacher Report after the sale. ‘Renting a house wasn’t for us. We wanted our own place.’
He added that owning a home allowed him and his family to experiment with interior design ideas as they pleased โ including nailing decorations into the wall โ and doing ‘whatever you want with the home now.’
In terms of Patrick’s backyard ideas, the home appears to be surrounded by trees and has a verdant patch where his children can play. The property is only a short drive away to the luxe landscape and amenities of Mission Hills Country Club and Arrowhead Stadium (home of the Chiefs) is only nine miles away.
