The Georgia Bulldogs are firmly in the College Football Playoff discussions and in the SEC title race with the final stretch of the season underway. However, the recent play of quarterback Carson Beck has been a major talking point.
Beck entered the season with Heisman Trophy buzz and as a projected first-round NFL draft pick. Unfortunately, Beck’s turnover issues have been a common theme this season as the Georgia signal-caller has 11 interceptions, including three in each of the past two games.
Former Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray chimed in on Beck’s recent play, saying the QB is “just forcing it.”
Another former Georgia star chimed in on Beck’s play, although he did it differently.
A picture was posted on Instagram of Beck and his girlfriend, Miami basketball star and social media sensation Hanna Cavinder. Underneath the post, former Georgia linebacker Davin Bellamy destroyed the QB with a comment.
“We could care less about (Tik Tok) relationships. I need my QB to take care of the ball!!! #GODAWGS,” Bellamy wrote in the replies.
It was quite the response from Bellamy, and the Georgia alum doesn’t seem thrilled with Beck’s recent play. Bellamy played at Georgia from 2014-17 and then went undrafted in 2018.
Despite the Bulldogs’ big win over Texas in October, Beck threw for just 175 yards with zero touchdowns and three interceptions. Against Florida on Saturday, Beck threw for 309 yards and two touchdowns but threw another three interceptions.
Even with Beck struggling, Georgia is 7-1 with the lone loss coming against Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
Still, all Bellamy wants is for Beck to take care of the football. Georgia faces Ole Miss and Tennessee the next two Saturdays, two more big tests for Beck.
