Georgia Bulldogs legendary tight end Brock Bowers is continuing to prove exactly why he was a first-round pick by the Las Vegas Raiders.
In the Raiders’ 20-15 Week 7 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, Bowers hauled in 10 catches for 93 yards on 14 total targets.
Bowers has racked up 43 total receptions in his first seven NFL outings, which is now the most in league history by a tight end through their first seven career games. It’s the first time the record has been broken since Keith Jackson did it with the Philadelphia Eagles back in 1988.
Additionally, Bowers has at least five catches in five NFL career games, marking the most in league history by a tight end through his first seven games — breaking Jackson’s record again.
In typical Bowers fashion, all he cares about is winning and not what records he has personally broken.
“I’d rather be winning games,” Bowers said. “… My focus is to help the team win games, so imma keep it on that track.”
On the season so far, Bowers has hauled in 47 receptions for 477 yards and a touchdown for the Raiders.
He currently leads the team in receiving. Wide receiver Jakobi Meyers is second on the team with 25 receptions for 273 yards and a score.
The Raiders are 2-5 on the season and face the undefeated (6-0) Kansas City Chiefs in Week 8.
