Images of unidentified flying objects taken in waters near the North Pole by the submarine USS Trepang in March 1971 made it difficult for viewers to deny the existence of aliens.
One day in 2015, French Top Secret magazine and researcher Alex Mistretta of “The Black Vault” site simultaneously received photos of UFO flying objects with information that they were taken by an American submarine on the 70s. Immediately, the photos aroused curiosity, and a verification investigation was carried out.
When Top Secret magazine received the above document, there was absolutely no signature or full name of the sender, but only an explanation and information about a mission in March 1971 in waters near the North Pole. US Navy submarine USS Trepang, number SSN 674.

The magazine’s graphic designer analyzed the photos and verified that they were real and not manipulated. The story and photos were published in issue 79 of the magazine.
Independently, researcher Alex Mistretta of “The Black Vault” also conducted an investigation into the authenticity of these photos.
Incredibly realistic photos
We start this series with what is undoubtedly the most impressive photo, completely different from the next three. In the picture is a cigar-shaped object, which may have been hit by a missile and is exploding above the water, or it may also be a UFO equipped with a jet engine that has just flown out of the water. Unfortunately there is no note about this photo on the original document.

The next photo is accompanied by a series of very interesting notes. First, it boldly says: OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPH. NOT TO BE REALIZED (OFFICIAL IMAGES. NOT PERMITTED FOR PUBLICATION). Then there are phrases like: Unauthorized Disclosure Subject. Security Certificate. SSN 674. Criminal Sanction (Security Clearance. Security Clearance. SSN 674. Criminal Sanction). They show that the photo comes from a US military laboratory and belongs to a high information security group.

On the third photo we can see a triangular UFO. It seemed to have trouble, tilting to the side before crashing headfirst into the sea.

The UFO image in this fourth photo looks very similar to the first picture, but more clearly shows it is in trouble, such as an engine fire or being caught on fire. Its shape completely resembles the typical cigar shape of a UFO, but still more details of its structure cannot be distinguished.

According to information from the anonymous contact, the USS Trepang submarine is equipped with an analog camera, which explains the image overlap (or double exposure) with two overlapping crosshairs. .

The next five photos show a large egg-shaped object falling into the sea. These images seem to come from another lab called SYGMA, about which we don’t have any information. Top Secret said it is unclear whether these photos represent a single and similar event or two different events?

Information revealed from the investigation*
According to Wikipedia, USS Trepang SSN-674 is a Sturgeon-class attack submarine. This is the second ship of the United States Navy to be named Trepang, a species of sea cucumber. The other is a destroyer with the code SS-412.

In March 1971, the ship was commanded by US Navy Admiral Dean Reynolds Sackett. Therefore, Mr. Alex Mistrett tried to contact Admiral Reynolds Sackett as well as a person named John Klika, a soldier who was also on the submarine Trepang SSN 674 in March 1971. However, both of them denied the existence of an encounter between a submarine and a UFO and also denied that the Trepang SSN 674 submarine took the above photos.
Mr. Alex said the photos could be fake, but they could also be real and Admiral Sackett was just following his commitment to keep the information confidential. In this case, he has the right to do so for legal reasons as well as to avoid future problems.

“The Black Vault” page also verified: In March 1971, the submarine Trepang SSN 674 was indeed present in waters near the North Pole, located between Iceland and Jan Mayen Island in the Atlantic Ocean, according to the ship’s route. Hullnumber page announced. Sailor John Klika was also on the ship at that time.
In UFO photos, you can clearly see the crosshairs and measuring lines of the periscope – a typical submarine observation device. Photos taken by submarines are often taken directly from the periscope. Thus, the UFO photos were most likely taken from a submarine, and the ship was submerged under the water’s surface. If these photos were staged, their author must have researched and thought very carefully to be able to bypass many layers of investigation as above.

With what the investigation obtained. Although it cannot be 100% confirmed, these are considered the clearest and most realistic photos of UFOs ever.
Stories of US military forces encountering UFOs are not uncommon. In November 2004, the super-advanced AN/SPY-1 multi-purpose radar on the destroyer USS Princeton encountered a floating object at an altitude of nearly 18,300 m before plunging its nose into the sea for a few seconds. It then flew away so fast that the crew thought it was a ballistic missile.
The UFO appeared again two days later, and a pair of high-tech F-18 fighters were deployed to intercept it. However, pilots reported the object could turn invisible. It was still detected because it created a turbulent circle on the water surface “about 50 – 100 m in diameter”. The flying object is described as white, smooth, with no sharp edges, no engine cover, no pylons or wings. It looked like a stretched egg or a mint candy and did not resemble “any aircraft in the inventory of the US military or any other country at that time”.
