Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James found himself in the headlines this week for something of an unsavory reason.

During a recent episode of the Real Housewives of Atlanta one of the show’s stars, Drew Sidora, confessed that she was involved with a certain unnamed NBA player at one point. The comment came as she and her pals were talking about the most famous person to ever try to get with them.

“I was on Melrose and we were at a restaurant and a certain king of the NBA sent me over a drink,” she said.

Sanya Richards-Ross followed up immediately.

“Hasn’t [bleep] and [bleep] been dating since high school?” she asked.

The names of he individuals were carefully censored, but that didn’t prevent speculation from running rampant on Twitter:

The clip featuring Sidora went viral on June 2. Two days later, on June 4, James took to Instagram.

In an emotionally-charged and lengthy post, the Lakers star professed his love for his wife Savannah who has been with him through thick and thin:

Obviously people will read into this situation in whatever way they see fit.

Given that a prominent athlete literally just got busted cheating on his longtime partner, with messy DMs and everything, male athletes aren’t the most trusted folks in the world right now.

That said, James has never given anyone a recent to doubt his integrity. And people read into his motives a bit too much when it comes to other women – as evidenced by this encounter between him and a female fan that went mega-viral.

Will he and Savannah ultimately address this Real Housewives dust-up any further?

Time will tell.
