In iuk.

What a roller coaster.

This has been okay.

Reports indicate, as you see the trade Partners there on your screen, a trade could be in place that would send iuk to the Steelers.

But they’re still working through some things, some particulars.

Good thing, we got gr here.

To explain it all, what is the latest in the twists and turns of the iuk negotiations?

Gr well, the latest I’ve heard is that iuk and the 49ers- uh, have been in conversations in recent days about a contract extension and, and at this point the 49ers have the framework of a deal in place with Pittsburgh if there’s going to be an iuk trade.

Pittsburgh, you know, has a general idea and iuk does what Pittsburgh would pay him on a new deal.

And obviously he’s been talking to the Niners for a while about a possible extension there.

So it’s a situation where, on some level, it may be up to Brandon auk to decide where he wants to go.

Now, a week ago, what we knew was that the Niners had given auk permission to go talk to other teams about a contract, see if they could work out a trade with those teams, and New England was involved and Cleveland was involved and obviously Pittsburgh.

Uh.

So I think you know it was that that was a means of the 49ers sort of letting, letting the market set itself right.

Like, hey, Brandon, you don’t like what we’ve offered.

Go see if you can find it from somebody else, and then, if you can’t, maybe you come back to us.

And so I I think they’re at a point now where that has sort of happened.

Uh, and they’re trying to get to a resolution pretty soon, because we’re about three weeks out here from the start of the Season.

They’d like to get him in Camp and practicing if he’s going to be on the team, uh, and if he’s not, they’d like to figure out what their options are at the position.

Yeah, It’s worth a reminder, gr, as we’ve kind of watched this whole thing develop, that Debo Samuel has what another year on his contracts, they gonna have to pay him or make a decision on him soonish.

But you’ve also got Brock pie, who’s going to need to be paid as the 49ers weigh all of this and then look at auk and trying to keep him.

He is super crucial to their offense and what they want to run.

How do you think all those other elements factor in?

Oh well, it’s not, it’s not insignificant.

I mean, remember, they also have their left tackle, Trent Williams, who’s holding out, looking for more money.

They’re.

They’re paying George Kd big money.

They’re paying Fred Warner big money like that.

They they’re.

They’re set up to win now.

Brock pie will be extension eligible next off season and, assuming another good year from him, he’ll, he’ll make a lot of money.

Uh, I do think you’re.

If, if auk is on the 49ers this year, then I think you have to assume one or the other of him and Debo be gone next year.

If Iuk signs a long-term extension.

That makes it more likely that Debo moves on after this year.

They are coming to the point, the 49ers, where they’re going to have to make some decisions on some of those big money guys on their roster.

But they’re not there yet and right now they’re a team that is determined to win this very next Super Bowl.

There’s obviously never been anybody closer to winning a Super Bowl, uh, without doing it uh, than they just were.

So they’re in a win now.

Window auk is a big part of that.

That’s why they want him back.

They don’t want to trade him, uh.

And they would like to get to a resolution that makes him happy and keeps him on the team if that is still possible.

I’m also thinking about the prospect of him joining a Steelers team.

We still don’t know exactly who the quarterback’s going to be, but think about him on the same team with George Pickins.

Potentially it could be a really nice enticing thing for those two quarter.

We Begin Nfl, live with breaking news out of Minnesota, right to our Nfl Insider, Dan Graziano.

What’s the latest gr?

Yeah, Laura, we said yesterday that, uh, once they got in to do the surgery, they would know on Jj Mccarthy, the Vikings quarterback, whether it was a repair, uh, or a trim of the torn meniscus.

It is a repair, uh, that means he is out for the season.

That, according to Vikings head coach Kevin oconnell a few hours ago, that means Jj Mccarthy’s Nfl debut will have to wait until 2025 and the Vikings will be going with Sam darnold, uh, as their quarterback, as their starting quarterback for the foreseeable future.

Yeah, You just feel for Jj Mccarthy.

But the Vikings said they expect a full recovery.

All of that another thing we’re keeping an eye on, and gr will give you the latest here.

Jordan Addison was carded off at practice.

So a tough day for Minnesota.

Let’s hear a little bit more right now from Kevin Oconnell, the head coach, saw him from day one back in the spring until really Saturday night.

Uh, the, the transformation of a really really good player had had really started to really look like an Nfl quarterback.

And just the work he puts in and and the commitment to every aspect of of you know the organic way he’s learning how to play quarterback in the National Football League.

And uh, I meant what I said: no ceiling, no floor.

Um, I really believe that, uh, you know, Jj’s kind of confirmed to me, um, and a lot of our coaches and players, that that we got the right guy in the building for the future.

Um, and he did it in a short amount of time.

So it’s what makes this news hard, because you know, um, just how exciting it would have been daily, minute to minute.

Uh, process, move forward.

But I think that optimism should be felt, um, by you know, anybody in our building and, and hopefully our fans.

So of course, Kevin Oconnell, talking about Jj Mccarthy, there you see, Dan Graziano here.

We’re waiting on Lewis rck working through a few technical difficulties.

We’ll have him shortly, hopefully also live reports coming from across the league.

But let’s continue on with the latest there in Minnesota, Gr in all your conversations.

What’s the confidence level with Sam darnold now taking the Reigns for sure for the foreseeable future?

Yeah, It’s pretty high, Laura.

I was there at their training camp about 10 days ago and and talking with people there about the quarterback situation, how it was going, I had multiple people there tell me that those those two days were Sam darnold’s best two days of practice yet in Camp, and they really felt like he had Advanced as Camp had gone on.

Uh, in terms of the offense and mastering it, remember he spent last year in San Francisco playing for Kyle Shanahan as backup to Brock pie and and the offenses are fairly similar in a lot of ways.

Uh, so he was ahead in that regard and and the Vikings coaches felt like he did a lot of good developmental stuff last year in San Francisco.

Darnold’s only 27 years old.

Uh, I think people forget that he came into the league so young and he’s been so many different places already.

But I, I I have to people should understand that, like even if Jj Mccarthy were fully healthy, there’s a strong likelihood that Sam darnold would have been the Vikings starting quarterback in week one and possibly, uh, for several weeks this season.

So they’ll go with him for longer than I think they might have planned, but they are very happy with the way he has looked and the way he has performed in Training Camps so far.

Yeah, he looked great.

Uh, in that preseason action, by the way, no firstr quarterback has missed his entire rookie season due to injury.

It appears Jj Mccarthy will be the first.

We’ll keep an eye on everything, Ners.

This is a situation that could be resolved even sooner.

Uh, he has.

He was granted last week permission to go talk to other teams, which he did.

Uh, he has had conversations with the Pittsburgh Steelers, as have the 49ers, about a potential trade, but the way last week ended was with the 49 and iuk talking about an extension again, and so now we’re at a point where one or the other will happen: either he’ll sign with the Niners long term or he’ll agree to come back to the Niners.

Uh, on the one-year deal.

Or, uh, they will do the deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

We await a decision.

Could be very soon.

And then an odd one in Cincinnati is Jamar Chase.

Uh, you know he’s through year three extension eligible.

They’ve kind of indicated that they don’t really want to do this till next off season.

But Chase missed practice yesterday after having spent training camp attending but not participating in practices.

Uh, there are definitely some, some issues to watch here in terms of Jamar Chase’s happiness and whether they can get a new deal done.

They’ve had conversations this offseason.

It just hasn’t seemed like anything’s been on the verge of happening.

Uh, Jamar Chase wants a new deal and uh, so far has not practiced in Training Camps.

So certainly worth keeping an eye on that one.

Okay, our Dan Graziano says: Cd Lamb, close Jamar Chase, fluid.

That is, Dan Graziano.

With the latest we bring in our Nfl analyst, Sam Ao.

Again.

You know, Sam, in the past we’ve seen what this Bengals offense has looked like when Jamar Chase is there, and then there’s no Joe burrow.

So give me your thoughts on what you think this offense will look like if you got Joe burrow and no Jamar Chase.

It will not be even as close to his effective train with Jamar Chase in the off season.

This dude is an elite type of receiver, not just because of his skill on the football field, but also his size.

He’s almost built like a running back, and you see it when he gets the ball in his hands, he can single-handedly take over games, and so, yes, I understand how Elite th Higgins is.

T Higgins really could be a number one receiver, but without Jamar Chase it’s almost as if you’re wasting some of the prime years of quarterback Joe burrow, who’s one of the best in the league, and so this is a situation you’re stck between a rock and a hard place.

Mike Brown, the owner of the team, doesn’t want to give an extension early.

Jamar Chase, as shown by him, not even doing a hold in but not showing up to training camp yesterday, seems like he wants to get this deal done.

Now something’s gonna have to give, and I don’t see Jamar Chase giving in.

You know every year, talking about Jamar chase, that he’s been in the league.

He’s put up over a thous.

For for, E, for for, for, Backe, for for, look E, come on, come back, get you went for for, for, for right time for.
