According to speculations, Martin Zubimendi’s £50 million release clause may be activated by Arsenal.
Last summer, Zubimendi, 24, turned down a proposal from the Gunners.

Zubimendi has impressed for boyhood club Real Sociedad this season
But Mikel Arteta remains keen on the Spaniard and the north Londoners have reportedly not been deterred.
According to Spanish publication Sport, Arsenal will make another attempt to sign the Real Sociedad player this month.
He initially joined the club when he was 12 years old, and he has been a member ever since.
He has frequently been tipped for a move to a behemoth, therefore it is unlikely that he will play for Sociedad for very long.
Although Zubimendi has a large list of suitors, it is unlikely that he will stay for much longer until his current contract expires in 2027.
Barcelona will compete with Arsenal to seal any deals.
Thus, whomever activates the provision first may decide which club signs him.
But considering how much Arsenal needs offensive reinforcements, they might decide to hold off on signing a new midfield player until the summer.
As reported by SunSport, Arsenal was priced out of a move for Brentford’s Ivan Toney and instead made a £22 million approach to buy Getafe forward Borja Mayoral.
Getafe, nevertheless, has retracted their initial bid in favor of holding out for more than £39 million for their star striker.
Arsenal is planning to recruit Ajax’s 17-year-old ‘prodigy’
The 17-year-old wonderkid has already captained the Dutch giants twice this season.
Arsenal are plotting a move for Ajax defender Jorrel Hato
It’s believed that Mikel Arteta is eager to add more defensive options to his roster through transfers.
Due to a knee injury, summer signing Jurrien Timber is anticipated to be sidelined until at least April.
In the meantime, Takehiro Tomiyasu is currently playing for his country at the Asian Cup, and Alexander Zinchenko is currently sidelined due to injury.
The Telegraph reports that the Gunners have now recognized Hato as a possible target.
Arsenal is drawn to the teenager’s versatility since he can play left back but is primarily employed in center defense.
The article also states that Hato’s summer transfer is being evaluated as an alternative to a January one.
Despite Ajax’s disappointing season, Hato has been an outstanding performance for the 36-time Dutch champions.
Before turning eighteen, he made forty appearances for the first team. This semester, he has also worn the captain’s armband several times.
In November, he was also given his senior international debut by Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman.
Ivan Toney of Brentford is still being closely linked to Arsenal, among other teams.
When looking for a new striker, Arteta has identified the forward as his top objective.
Thomas Frank, the manager of Brentford, is still committed to holding onto their player this month.
