Shakira is set to be honored with the prestigious Video Vanguard Award at the upcoming 2023 MTV Video Music Awards. This award, given to iconic artists in the music industry, has previously been received by top stars like Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, and Madonna. Other notable recipients include Janet Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, and Missy Elliott.
Renowned music icon Shakira is slated to receive the esteemed Video Vanguard Award at the highly-anticipated 2023 MTV Video Music Awards. In addition to this honor, she will be gracing the VMA stage with a performance for the first time in nearly two decades. Throughout her illustrious career, the Colombian songstress has secured four VMAs, commencing with her initial victory in the International Viewer’s Choice (Latin America North) category in 2000.
This year, she has been recognized with nominations in four categories. These include artist of the year, best collaboration for her work on “XQG” with Karol G, as well as two nominations for the best Latin category. One for her collaboration with Karol G and another for her solo single, “Acróstico.”
