“I Got To Read My Bible for Two Straight Weeks”: Ella Langley Gets Vulnerable About Her “Life Changing” Break From the Spotlight

After two sold-out shows at the Ryman this week, Ella Langley has never been more on top of her game. However, this summer, Langley announced that she needed a break from performing, which meant she would be taking a hiatus from touring with Morgan Wallen and Riley Green.

AFC West: Kelce makes Swift move, are Chiefs still the class of the division?“I’m so sad to be posting this,” wrote Langley. “The past several weeks have been tough. I’ve been fighting sickness and feeling more run down than ever,” the singer shared on Instagram. “After a lot of thought, I’ve made the hard decision to take a couple of weeks to rest and focus on my health — mind, body, and heart. I want to be fully present for all the moments ahead, and I know I can’t do that without first taking care of myself.”

She told fans, “Sometimes we have to listen when our bodies and hearts are telling us to slow down. I’m so grateful for your understanding and your love — it truly means the world to me.”

At one of her shows, the singer spoke about the time she spent away from the spotlight. She even reflected on it as the thing that gave her a “fresh perspective.”

Langley gave her fans one hell of a show this weekend, which included duets with Morgan Wallen, HARDY, and Ernest. She opened up to her audience, “I took a couple of weeks off this year, and I hadn’t really spoken a lot about it since.” She got vulnerable, saying, “Since I graduated high school, seriously, I’ve put this thing number one in my life above everything else, above myself, really.”

She went on to explain her perspective at the time. “My band and I got to a point this year where we were looking in the mirror and didn’t recognize ourselves the way we used to. We were tired. We needed a break. We had been doing this every weekend forever….we just needed a break.”

“I can’t explain how much that changed my life. I got to read my Bible for two straight weeks,” she shared. “I got to go back home and spend more time there than I had spent at home since I left. I bought my first house, and I got to sit in it for the first time. I got to sit there and see what is happening in my life and the thing that I’m working so hard for, and how it is changing my life and my family’s life.”

Langley, who’s “Choosin’ Texas” has peaked at No. 7 on the US Hot Country Songs chart since it’s release, is thriving. It seems like her break gave her the clarity she needed, and we’re happy to see her back in action.
