Basketball Legend Dwyane Wade Once Admitted the Risk of Bankruptcy Due to Gambling

In an interview on the Men’s Health channel, Wade frankly admitted that he was having major financial problems due to gambling addiction: “There were times when I wanted to get out of the house, away from my room to avoid gambling. Online gambling. My financial advisor called me and said that I had a huge problem with constantly spending money playing Poker.

I admit that I have been an avid gambler since I was competing. You know flights are a part of my life and that of my teammates. What will we do on flights? We bonded over gambling and most of the time I lost, a lot of money.

Of course it’s nothing compared to the money I earn, that subjectivity makes me addicted to gambling. And now that I have retired, it is a very big problem for me. I have a lot of free time and then use it to gamble.”

In the NBA, Dwyane Wade is certainly not the first, nor the last, addicted to gambling. This problem has been going on for a long time and it of course depends on the individual awareness of each player.
