Kevin Durant’s Spectacular Comeback: Trails by 23, Scores 43 to Propel Phoenix Suns to a Thrilling 115-113 Victory over the Bulls

The Phoenix Suns are coming off a five-game winning run and are riding high lately going into their matchup against the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls, on the other hand, have been playing well even without All-Star guard Zach LaVine. They have won six of their eight prior games going in.

It was a soggy evening in downtown Phoenix when the two hot teams squared off in what ended up being an amazing basketball match.

After scoring 40 points the night before, Kevin Durant scored 43 points against the Bulls to help the Suns win 115-113 after mounting a comeback from a 23-point deficit. He scored 17 points in the fourth quarter and nailed the game-winning shot for Phoenix with 1.6 seconds remaining.

For Chicago, Coby White had a fantastic game and tried his hardest to take up LaVine’s role. White finished with 26 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists, and scores both inside and outside the court. DeMar DeRozan scored 21 points, Nikola Vucevic finished with 19 points and 17 rebounds, Alex Caruso scored 15 points on 5-of-11 shooting from three-point range.

Stopping the Suns’ winning streak wasn’t sufficient.

Devin Booker was 6-of-11 for 16 points and 5 assists, Bradley Beal finished with 18 points on 7-of-17 shooting, and Drew Eubanks added 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists as a spark off the bench. KD only committed one turnover and finished the game with eight assists.

The Dallas Mavericks, who the Suns play on Wednesday, lost to the Boston Celtics tonight, so the victory vaults the Suns into the fifth seed in the Western Conference. Chicago finishes the year at 21–24.
