Lewis Capaldi performed a very special acoustic gig at Dundee’s Fat Sams last weekend and there was one stand out moment for his fans, during a Q&A session.
As part of the gig, Lewis held a Q&A session for fans, and it became a very special day for one 80-year-old fan, and her birthday was made even more special, when he decided to hop the barrier to meet her.
We managed to speak to the lucky gran, Janet, and she told them what happened. Janet explained how her grandson Oliver managed to get the ‘Pointless’ singer’s attention during the Q&A session.
She explained: “He (her grandson) said it’s a birthday present for my gran, for her 80th birthday, and he (Lewis) said can you come up to the stage? And all he said was she’s disabled, and that’s when he climbed the barrier and come up.”
You can watch the moment when Lewis hopped the barrier below!
@tpwkscotland Cutest moment ! Lewis meeting a 80 year old she wanted this for her bucket list. I Also had to pinch his arm when he came this close 😂🥴 @Lewis Capaldi #dundee #lewiscapaldi ♬ original sound – AlexFerg_scotland
The Dundee gran also revealed she’s a massive fan of the Scottish singer, admitting she’d love to adopt him, something she told him in person. “If you look at the video,” she said: “You see me saying it to him!”
Janet then explained how she found out she was going to see Lewis which was her first ever gig. She was called up on Saturday morning by her grandson and asked if she was up to anything on the 20th May, when she said no she was surprised with tickets to see Lewis!
She went on to say: “I’ve never been to a concert before! I have got my wee thing to sit on. And I go in, and I couldn’t stand because I’m no good in crowds, and I’m no good at standing, but it was brilliant.”
Janet went on to reveal that ‘Before You Go’ was her favourite Lewis Capaldi song.
What an experience for Janet and her grandson!
