Total Mayhem Erupted on The Graham Norton Show When Lewis Capaldi Dropped a Shockingly Rude Remark That Left the Panel in Hysterics. ws

The Graham Norton show descended into chaos last week when Lewis Capaldi dropped the C-word during his brief appearance on the BBC programme.

The Scottish singer, 29, appeared on the show to perform his new song, Something In The Heavens, before joining the host and other stars on the red sofa for a chat.

Despite his segment only being minutes long, the funnyman had most of the A-list panel in stitches after dropping an expletive.

Viewers delighted in the moment as the other guests; Taylor SwiftCillian Murphy, Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith and Domhnall Gleeson expressed varying reactions.

The famously unfiltered star was reflecting on his last appearance on the show, where he kept saying ‘f***’ while struggling with Tourette syndrome.

He was joined by Jodie, who also mused on their original meeting, and said: ‘I was heavily pregnant,’ to which Lewis agreed: ‘Yeah, and I swore. And I apologised to your baby bump.’

He then quipped: ‘I’ve often wondered if your child’s first word was… c***’.

‘I wondered if it would be that too – thankfully it was “mama”,’ Jodie then responded.

As the camera panned out on the moment, the varying degree of reactions from the Hollywood stars was revealed as Cillian struggled to contain his laughter.

Domhnall was equally tickled by the moment as he threw back his head in amusement, while Greta Lee looked totally shocked by it.

Taylor kept composure, while Jodie also managed to stifle a laugh.

Sharing their thoughts on the amusing moment, viewers took to X and said: ‘Love how people from other countries react to the word c***, so normal for anyone from the UK or Ireland’; ‘Cillian Murphy shocked he could laugh genuinely on this couch’;

‘That gave Cillian Murphy life’; ‘Anyone who can make Cillian Murphy laugh and smile immediately has my favours’; ‘He’ a national treasure’;

‘This is so important to me’; ‘I adore how tickled Domhnall Gleeson is by Lewis swearing’; ‘Even Cillian p***ed himself’; ‘With that comment Cillian came back to earth’.

Following the show, host Graham was flooded with praise from fans after he apparently jumped in to stop Jodie‘s awkward line of questioning towards Taylor.

Kicking off the promo trail for her new album, The Life Of A Showgirl, Taylor, 35, opened up about buying back the rights to her music and her recent engagement to NFL star Travis Kelce.

But, one Swiftie, who was sitting in the audience when the show was filmed, has alleged there was one very awkward moment that was cut from the episode when it was broadcast the following day.

Sammie Nicole took to TikTok to share a video revealing what happened behind-the-scenes and several funny moments that viewers didn’t get to see.

She claimed that things became ‘uncomfortable’ at one point after Jodie, 39, began asking Taylor about her and Kelce’s baby plans, causing host Norton to step in.

She explained: ‘This is a big one. When I was watching it I was like “Oh, they cut that out!” Which I’m not surprised that they did.

‘There was a part when Graham was talking to Taylor about the upcoming wedding and planning it, and one of the other guests, Jodie, said to Taylor, “And what about babies?”

‘Now I know what she meant, she was asking Taylor, “Are you going to have babies soon?” But Taylor thought she was asking if babies were coming to the wedding, so Taylor went, “Oh no under-18s are coming, just adults!”

Jodie’s line of questioning was handled adeptly by Norton, it was claimed

‘I feel that should have been the end of it, but it wasn’t, because Jodie then said, “No, no I mean are you going to have babies?”‘

Sammie was quick to criticise the alleged question, saying it was inappropriate especially in front of an audience and cameras.

She said: ‘I was like girl? First of all you don’t ask someone that, you should know better than to ask that. Especially on a television show, like she’s not going to answer that for you.

‘I just felt really uncomfortable when she said that. A, she might not want kids; B, she might not be able to have kids; and C even if she can and will, it’s none of your business. Don’t ask someone that.’

However, she claimed that Graham was the consummate professional, quickly interrupting to steer the conversation on.

She recalled: ‘Anyway, Graham was so on top of it. Instantly he went, “That’s an off-camera conversation to have.” And then they moved on. So that was a big one that got cut out.’

The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for both Jodie and The Graham Norton Show for comment.

TikTok users were quick to praise Norton’s smooth hosting skills, while levelling criticism towards Jodie’s alleged question.

One wrote: ‘Really glad Graham jumped in on the babies question because it is inappropriate, ESPECIALLY on a tv show. I can’t believe she asked that.’

Another added: ‘Why did she think it’s appropriate to ask such personal question is beyond me.’

Heaping praise on the presenter another user added: ‘And this is why the industry and public just LOVE Graham Norton’ – sentiments that were echoed by a number of users. ‘Good on Graham for immediately not allowing that question to be humoured for even a second,’ one wrote, while another added: ‘Omg thank god for graham stepping in like that wow, gained a lot of respect and appreciation for him and the show for knowing that wasn’t ok and cutting it off right away.’

During the show, Swift teased her upcoming nuptials, as she revealed fans ‘will know’ when she ties the knot, but was putting the wedding off until after she’s finished promoting her new album.

She said: ‘You’ll know. I want to do the album stuff first, and the wedding is what happens after in terms of planning. I think it will be fun to plan.’

She proudly showed off her 10-carat diamond ring from Kelce, which reportedly cost between $700,000 and $1,000,000, and shared the story of how he proposed to her in August.

The singer explained how he kept her distracted while setting up elaborate floral decorations in his garden, to ensure the proposal was a complete surprise.

She recalled: ‘So he really crushed it when it came to surprising me. Because we had actually filmed a podcast episode — he has a podcast called New Heights.

‘And meanwhile, behind his house, he was having the whole back garden turned into this,’ she said as she gestured to the photos showing the over-the-top, romantic display of flowers where he would ask her to marry him.

‘And one of the things that he put in there very strategically was a wall of hedges that weren’t there before and inside the hedges was my tour photographer hiding in bushes that had not previously been there,’ she said.

As for how she felt about their intimate, low-key proposal at home, Swift gushed: ‘He went all out. Ten out of ten.’

While she added how pleased she was that he made sure their engagement would be captured on camera, saying: ‘It’s really fun that we actually have the exact moment.’
