‘This wasn’t just small talk…’ — Jesse Watters’ smile vanished when an A-list actor leaned in at an airport and unleashed words so venomous, they sliced deeper than any on-air attack he’d ever faced…

Years later, the Fox News host is still taking the high road.

Jesse Watters has interviewed presidents, sparred with critics, and anchored primetime television, but one moment that still stands out happened far from the camera, inside an airport lounge.

On Tuesday’s episode of Jesse Watters Primetime, the Fox News host revisited an unusual encounter with actor Shia LaBeouf, claiming the Transformers star (or someone who looked like him) once insulted him at a Delta lounge.

“Shia LaBeouf told me to go eff myself at a Delta lounge at the airport a couple years ago,” Watters told filmmaker David Mamet, who was promoting his new movie starring LaBeouf.

“So tell him I said hi,” Watters added with a half-smile, brushing off the story with trademark sarcasm

Watters had first mentioned the incident back in 2019, describing it while guest-hosting The Ingraham Angle. At the time, he explained that he and his family were preparing to board a flight when LaBeouf — or someone who looked just like him — walked past and called him “trash” without provocation.

“And I didn’t say anything. I didn’t lose it,” Watters recalled. “But, you know, these things happen.”

The moment could’ve gone viral. It didn’t — because Watters let it go.

In revisiting the story this week, Watters didn’t escalate, even when speaking to the director of LaBeouf’s latest film.

Instead, his comments were light, even humorous. It was a quick aside during a broader conversation with Mamet about culture, politics, and Hollywood. When Mamet joked about replacing “volatile” actors with philosopher kings and queens, Watters didn’t take the bait. He laughed, played along, and pivoted back to his guest’s message.

“Sign me up. I may even donate — I’m not allowed to. Sorry Fox. Not in the handbook.”

Shia LaBeouf, 39, has never publicly addressed the alleged encounter. His team didn’t respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

The resurfaced story comes just weeks after FKA Twigs dropped her abuse lawsuit against LaBeouf, settling out of court. While unrelated, the timing has renewed scrutiny of the actor’s off-screen behavior.

As for Jesse Watters, the Fox News host continues his rise. With Jesse Watters Primetime now a fixture in the 8 p.m. slot and The Five dominating early evenings, he’s become one of the network’s most recognizable and consistent voices.

And even when name-dropped by Hollywood, years after an uncomfortable moment, he’s still taking the high road.
