Suns Collapse in the Fourth Quarter, Succumb to Grizzlies in Kevin Durant’s Comeback Game

The Phoenix Suns were defeated 121-115 on Sunday night by the Memphis Grizzlies, who were playing without Ja Morant. Jaren Jackson Jr. finished with 28 points and 10 rebounds.

Desmond Bane scored 23 points, including the game-winning 3-pointer with 1:30 remaining, while Marcus Smart contributed 25 points. Coming off the bench, Vince Williams Jr. scored 19 points.

Right shoulder pain kept Morant out of the game. Prior to the game, Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins stated that it appeared that Jared Letestu had a shoulder injury late in Friday night’s game against the Lakers in Los Angeles.

After missing three games due to right hamstring tightness, Kevin Durant is back for Phoenix. His stats were 10 rebounds and 23 points.

With 24 points, Devin Booker led the Suns. Grayson Allen scored 16 points, Bradley Beal contributed 12, and Jusuf Nurkic finished with 18 points and 19 rebounds.

Guard Eric Gordon (right knee soreness) and backup center Bol Bol (right ankle injury) were both out for the Suns. Before the game, Suns coach Frank Vogel stated that both players are day-to-day.

Phoenix had a 4-2 homestand finale.

Due to his conduct that was detrimental to the league, Morant missed the first 25 games of Memphis’ season. The two-time All-Star faced a harsher suspension after showing pistols on social media during the previous season, when he repeated the behavior in the offseason. He was punished for eight games.
