According to the Daily Mail , singer Shakira recently asked the paparazzi to respect the privacy of her two sons, Milan (10 years old) and Sasha (8 years old).

The Colombian singer said that as a public figure, she and her family cannot avoid the curiosity of the media and paparazzi, especially when her family is going through great events.

“My two sons Milan and Sasha have had a very difficult year, they have been constantly surrounded by paparazzi and many media in Barcelona,” Shakira said.

She also begged the paparazzi not to follow her children at the school gate, in front of the house or even their extracurricular activities.

Metro newspaper quoted singer Waka Waka as saying that her sons had to stop participating in extracurricular activities such as baseball practice for a while because they were constantly “followed” by paparazzi.

The 46-year-old singer said her two sons should be treated in the most civilized way and that the two children should be able to live a peaceful life without being constantly scrutinized by cameras.

“I say this not as an artist, but with the mindset of a mother, someone who wants to protect and take care of her children’s mental health as well as nurture their emotions, so that they can have a happy life and grow up healthy like other children,” Shakira said angrily.
