Along with Ben Simmons, the Philadelphia 76ers let Andre Drummond (Joel Embiid’s great assistant in recent times) and shooter Seth Curry leave. Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets let Paul Millsap accompany James Harden to Philly.

Ben Simmons and James Harden have officially swapped places after more than a week of negotiations between the two teams

This can be considered a mutually beneficial exchange deal. Both the 76ers and Nets let their unhappy stars go to find new destinations, while also exchanging quality pieces.

Brooklyn Nets has Ben Simmons, along with adding  to add perimeter firepower. This is a timely and necessary appearance when the home team at Barclays Center is struggling due to the lack of a pitcher (main “gunner” Joe Harris is still injured).

Andre Drummond accompanying Simmons and Curry will help add steel to Brooklyn. This center forward is playing quite well as Joel Embiid’s backup big man, averaging 6.1 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.

Seth Curry will bid farewell to the Philadelphia 76ers and prepare to play for the 9th team of his career

On the Philadelphia 76ers side, James Harden’s arrival will create a ‘defender – center’ duo. is considered extremely formidable for Joel Embiid.

In addition to Embiid playing at MVP level, Harden will both elevate the Cameroonian striker as well as the entire 76ers team, and have a completely new environment to show off his personal level.

Another advantage for the 76ers is that they do not have to part with both Matisse Thybulle and Tyrese Maxey, two names that this team is very determined to keep. The trade-off is that the Sixers say goodbye to one of the most quality 3-point shooters in the NBA at the moment, Seth Curry.

Accompanying Harden in this exchange is Paul Millsap, a veteran scorer who turned 37 this year. However, it is highly likely that the Sixers will liquidate Millsap’s contract and put him on the free agent market.
