โ€œWHAT JUST HAPPENED?!!! ๐Ÿคฏ – 75,000 people fell silent in the desert โ€“ not because of the music, but because of something unexpected from Jelly Roll and Brandon Lake. As the sun dipped behind the mountains at Stagecoach, the festival atmosphere suddenly transformed into a sacred moment. Jelly Roll, along with Christian artist Brandon Lake, didnโ€™t just perform โ€“ they led the sea of โ€‹โ€‹people in a moving moment of worship. There was no cheering, just singing and a quiet focus on something bigger than themselves. It was an unexpected finale to Americaโ€™s largest country music festival…

Brandon Lake released his โ€œHard Fought Hallelujahโ€ collaboration with Jelly Roll in February 2025. Although the worship singer initially released the song in 2024.

He later chose to add an artist whose story fit the moving single.

In a KLOVE interview, Lake shared,

โ€œI wanted to share this song with somebody that had a really beautiful and hard-fought story, and the first person that came to mind was Jelly.โ€

Jelly Rollโ€™s story is a powerful narrative of redemption; he was incarcerated as a teenager for selling drugs and later charged with armed robbery. Now he is one of the worldโ€™s largest and most influential artists.

Jelly Roll stands as a symbol of a transformed life.

He expressed his honor in collaborating with Brandon Lake on the single, saying,

โ€œIโ€™m honored that I was the callIโ€™m a Brandon Lake fanโ€ฆ What heโ€™s doing for Christian music, even outside of Christian music โ€” heโ€™s taking it further than Iโ€™ve seen anybody take it in a long time.โ€

The duo has showcased their song on numerous global platforms, including the Grand Ole Opry and American Idol.

Their latest performance was at Stagecoach, the renowned country music festival held in Indio, California, from April 25th to April 27th this year, with the festival typically occurring in late April.

Stagecoach spotlights some of the biggest names in country music, with headliners this year including Zach Bryan, Jelly Roll, and Luke Combs. There were also surprise performances by Mumford and Sons, in addition to supporting acts such as Brothers Osborne, Lana Del Rey, Sturgill Simpson, Nelly, Midland, and many more.

This year, Jelly Roll headlines and brought out guests to join him on stage. His guests included MGK, Lana Del Rey, and Brandon Lake.

When he brought out Lake to sing their gospel single, the whole crowd sang along to the Christian hit.

This shocked Lake.

He posted a TikTok recap of the night and said,

โ€œWHAT JUST HAPPENED?!!! ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿคฏโ€ He continued, โ€œI donโ€™t even know how to process all that just went down. Something wild is happening I wish I could tell each of you about. Godโ€™s so kind. As unforgettable as the moments on stage were, Iโ€™m thankful mostly for all the profound convos backstage. Hoping we get the invite back after how you all responded to last night. That was wild!!!โ€
